A prime location, Shining Stars, offers group and individual ABA therapy, Occupational Therapy and soon to be announced Speech and Language Therapy as well as respite supports in the Clarkson area of Mississauga. Our centre space boasts multiple learning areas. Shining Stars’ main classroom, classroom 25, provides our students with opportunities to engage in the four domains of learning: group time, 1:1 instruction with Instructor Therapists, independent and exploratory play and self-regulation. Students have access to a stimulating learning environment, that includes a mini climbing structure, two large floor spaces that allow for attending to adult instruction, playing on own or with others, engaging in a cooperative game with adult and peers and TEACH time.
Our outdoor play area offers students a fruitful opportunity to engage in recreational play, gross motor movement, cooperative games and/or extend group and 1:1 learning outdoors. With two playgrounds, several basketball nets, large trees and a baseball diamond, our star students enjoy outdoor time. Shining Stars also has access to a nature trail that ends at the Lorne Park Library.
Shining Stars’ goal is to provide welcoming spaces which allow students to self-regulate, learn new skills while mastering skills previously taught in other environments and develop social relationships with other students, regardless of functioning levels.
Shining Stars is delighted to arrange a visit for you and your child to our centre-based program. Looking forward to seeing you there!
